The evolution of soft luggage has been a long, tedious process, as
with the evolution of most things, like dinosaurs or motorcycles. When
we first started designing and manufacturing luggage 3 decades ago, we made
one product called the Bar Pack. It was simple and served the needs
of most riders, as all seemed to have a "sissy bar" on the back. Remember
them? The evolutionary process occurred as rider's needs changed, bikes
changed and lifestyles changed.
From that one product we now produce over forty different kinds of Rev-Packs.
If one chose to go fossil hunting in the barn, you could probably find the skeletal
remains of one of those original Bar Packs. What with carbon dating and
all, it might possibly date back to 1974, ad. and still fill a particular niche
in the riding population.
From '74 until now there's been dramatic change in the motorcycle industry.
Rev-Pack has made an effort to keep pace, but actually what we've found is that
some of our original, most traditional designs seem to span the decades, remaining
the most useful, versatile items we sell. From our traditional Saddle Packs
and Stuff Packs to the Tool Packs, life can muddle on, but these products maintain
their usefulness and integrity.
