The reason for this is it's unique function. The pack is designed to carry a lot of tools in a small space, and do it neatly and efficiently. When loaded with tools and rolled up the pack measures about 5" x 8", depending on what you carry. You don't hear the clunking of metal in a trunk or in the tool compartment of your bike. It makes it easy to transfer your essential tools from one vehicle to another and when using the tools, displays them all for easy access.
